About The Minnesota Valley Men's Chorale
"What do choir directors do when they retire? They start another choir!" - Steve Boehlke, Director
"We're just a bunch of guys who love to sing. But Steve turns us into something more, despite having only ten or twelve rehearsals to get us ready. And we never know what he's going to throw at us. One minute, we're singing a beautiful love song by David Dickau; the next, we're doing a medley of TV theme songs like 'Gilligan's Island' and 'Petticoat Junction' ... and laughing up a storm. Even though I often come home from work exhausted, I always look forward to Monday nights ... because I know I'll come back from rehearsal recharged and energized." - Mark Salter, Tenor
"What I appreciate most about singing with this group is the broad range in the ages of the men. Some are not long out of high school or college, while others are fathers and grandfathers. It's a great bunch of men who just love to sing together." - Harold Lang, Baritone
"Steve expects quality from note one in rehearsal. We are working to become an elite group in the Twin Cities which is filled with the best choral groups in the country. The sacred works are great, but I particularly love performing the secular pieces," - LeRoy Horn, Bass
